We’re excited to share the tentative itinerary for our Beyond the Gulf Islands cruise in Summer 2027!
At this stage, we’re looking to see how many boats may be interested in joining the adventure and to hear your questions and ideas as we continue to refine the itinerary. There’s no commitment yet — just click the Express Interest button and let us know what you’re thinking.
The cruise will be hosted by Tom and Chris Miner, experienced RHYC cruise leaders who know these waters well. This is a wonderful opportunity to venture beyond our usual cruising grounds and explore Desolation Sound, the Broughton Archipelago, and — for those who want to continue even farther — north of Cape Caution, while traveling in the company of fellow RHYC cruisers.
This is a true cruising adventure! The majority of our nights will be spent at anchor or rafting with other RHYC boats, as weather and conditions permit. Marina stays will be mixed in along the way as shown in the tentative itinerary.
Come for all of it or just part of it. The itinerary is designed so boats can join or depart along the way, making it possible to choose the portion of the adventure that works for you.

Layover Day
July 8 — Roche Harbor to Nanaimo

July 9 — Nanaimo to Henry Bay (Vancouver Island side)

Option: Nanaimo to the Pender Harbour area — 40 miles • Approximately 5 hours
July 10 — Henry Bay to Campbell River

Meet up with cruisers who may already be farther north.
Fuel and resupply available in Campbell River.

For cruisers who want to continue the adventure, the tentative plan includes approximately two additional weeks north of Cape Caution.

July 22–August 10 — Shearwater / Ocean Falls Area
Explore the central coast and surrounding areas.
August 10–20 — Southbound
Begin the journey south and head home.
